MOST UNDERRATED Town in Baja California Sur Mexico

Mulege was one of my favorite stops in all of our Baja California Sur road trip! This town just has something about it that got under my skin in the best possible way. I felt so relaxed, so calm, so at peace in this place. Maybe it was the sunsets along the lazy river, maybe it was the people and how kind and open they were, maybe it was the paintings or the desert hike through the canyon. Whatever it was, I'll definitely be back to Mulege again one day.

My ancestors, The Guaycura people, very likely painted that cave art.

We have had our home in Mulege for 14 years and love it. We were quite delighted when we found your video and started watching it. The white house featured at the beginning of your video is our home built by the same "Cliff" and his crew who have the B&B you stayed in. Thank you for sharing our little town that we love so much.

I also fell in love with that town. You should have shown the cool little streets with the tall curbs inside Mulege

we drive to San Jose Del Cabo each year for 3 months or so. We always stay in Mulege and stay at the same place you did, Cliff's place. In the early am a man selling tamales will come by. Cliff's also allows for pets and he also rents out actual houses. He is a great guy with a couple sweet dogs. Glad you found him. I've also done a review on Cliff's Place and toured each room in the hostel type area. We've stayed there 10 times in 5 years and have only had others staying there one time. BTW just across the river is an Ex Pat bar, rock and roll from about 10pm to midnight or so You can just hear it from Cliff's but if you walk to the river (1 block) you can see the lights and get a free concert. Karaoke and people having a great time.

Drove through this town from San Diego on the way to La Paz, it was just so beautiful that we had to stop and take pictures.

We live in Mexico north of Cabo Pulmo and south of La Ribera. We like Muliege since it is a stop as we travel from Baja Sur to Tecate. There is an excellent second-floor restaurante in the middle of town that serves lobster there with wonderful service. We have visited the mission, the prison and enjoyed a pig roast Saturday evening at Serenidad Hotel (south edge of town off Mex. 1). The Hotel also have RV hook-up.

North about 30 miles in Punto Chivato which is a remote place to visit, however, they have a famous hotel there with lots of history. Honestly, Mulege looks better to the eye than a place to live or have an extended visit. It is great for a stop-over There are some great camp over beaches south. Thanks you for sharing your impressions. .

I know exactly what you mean. I went to stay 1 night at historico la casitas and wound up stay almost a month. That is one gem of a little town. The people are so nice as with most of Baja Sur. The garden between the restaurant and bar and the casitas was magical.

Want to jump into that river to cool off.

Mulage definitely an oasis in the desert.

Love the cave paintings. I hope you got to the beach sometime. I spent 10 days in Mulege in 1975 and loved scuba diving twice a day. There was no craft brewery then, but Ballena Pacifica beer was delicious!

I have been to Mulege, it is an amazing town. It is an interesting town historically. If it wasn't Mulege, all of Baja would have been part of the United States.

We drove into Muleje in the middle of the night almost 50 years ago.
It was steamy, hot, and it felt like a tropical jungle. Very memorable.

Looks like Muleje is still as quaint and peaceful as it was 40 years ago. Used to camp at different spots on Bahia Conception while exploring the Gulf. Didn't even know about the paintings. Will check them out in January on our way south. Muchisimas Gracias. Love the vidio.
