May 2017 — In our series “Why Public Health?” we ask Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health students and alumni to talk about what drew them to the field. After graduating this month, Carolyn Brooks, ScD ’17, will use the statistical and methodological training she gained at the School at her job with a large health insurer, where she’ll develop and evaluate programs to decrease health costs and improve health outcomes among low-income populations.
