Reason for Indians choosing crossover SUVs over Sedans is the bad state of our roads. Sedans keep hitting horrendously big speed breakers or potholes while crossover SUVs don’t face this problem due to higher ground clearance. It’s basically poorly governed state of the country responsible for people moving to SUVs majorly. Sedans by design are much superior than SUVs

There is a different( beautiful) feel to watch a sedan like honda city travel on road which no suv can ever match.

As a 100kg 6'1'' guy
I have to say that the seating position in suvs is much better for me than sedans

There is something about driving a sedan which can't be put into words.. the way it glides on the road and handles on curve is something which only a driving enthusiasts can understand and honestly there aren't many driving enthusiasts in India

Three reasons why I prefer SUV :
1. Good visibility of the road.
2. Ground clearance to tackle Indian roads
3. As we become older, getting in and out of Suv is much easier.

Bro completely skipped one of the biggest factors: boot space. You can easily fit 5-6 average size trolley bags in sedan’s boot. Modern day’s so called SUV’s fit maximum two

I also bought Honda City and everyone was asking me why I have not taken SUV.
My personal reasons,
1. More space compared to Compact SUV
2. Great for long rides
3. Great Fuel economy if you are driving efficiently
4. Good Boot Space for 5 people stuff
5. Ground Clearance issue is overhyped. Not faced any issues in past 2 years of ownership
6. Practical for Family use

Personally I am really hardcore fan of sedans. And don't like these mid-sized so called SUV's. That's why I don't own any mid-sized SUV. I always prefer full sized SUV's. Or else go with a good performance sedan.

Edit: guys thank you so much for the love ❤️🙏

India needed a different perspective to all common problems.
And you are exactly doing that.
Kudos my friend.

I am a 158 cm tall working middle class women. Driving cars has been my hobby since teenage( started learning at slow speed on single lanes in jungles at age of 14years). Now I have to live more in cites. I love all cars expecially Sedans but the whole cites are dug up in Rajasthan. Some speed breakers are so out of shape and high they break my car even if I cross them at dead speed. In monsoon the roads are flooded here. Also married a tall guy whose head and legs need extra space to not feel cramped inside the car. Was hence forced to buy an SUV instead of sedan recently. Of course in SUVs one can feel the power while in sedans one feels comfortable, however in the city traffic all I wanna feel is decongestion and movement of traffic. Also SUVs need more parking space compared to sedans. There is no parking space in Rajasthani cities. People literally park on the road without caring about creating traffic jams.
While cleaning the car I can easily clean the top of the sedans and stand on a stool/chair to clean the middle area of the roof. In SUVs I am dependent on the car cleaning boy of the colony whom I have to pay extra every month and I feel helpless when this cleaning boy is on leave and my husband goes out of town simultaneously. Even after standing on a chair I cannot clean the middle of the car roof properly. Sedans are so much easier to clean and park.

I bought Honda Amaze, All My friends told why you are buying a sedan,
My Reasons
1) High Milage [22-24 KMPL in highways, 17-18 In Cities]
2) Best back seat comfort [Sedans are complete family car]
3) No rollover in high speeds.
4) Sedans require less maintenance.
6) Sedans have Big Boot space [420 liters].
7) Also, with almost 160mm ground clearance it's at par for off-roading too.

Only demerit is you cannot carry big things in car things like cycle, like we do in hatchbacks and SUV by folding rear seat.

To add to the points in the video:

1) The lower center of gravity and seats also make a smoother drive with less jerks
2) SUVs have poorer visibility and more blind spots so that also makes safety lesser

The real problem why Sedans don’t make sense is because you don’t have RWD options, Front Wheel Drive is too dangerous because you have limited grip is you’re accelerating in multiple directions, so AWD/4WD makes sense if you’re investing so much.
