Disable Fake Engine Noise in 2022 GR86 and BRZ

The 2022 Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ have an Active Sound Controller which pipes in fake engine noise. You can disable the piped in engine noise by disconnecting the plug from the controller.

An alternative is to have a dealership disable it via software, but this allows you to quickly test and see what you like best!

All My GR86 mods:

► Muteki 12mm wheel spacers : hard to find right now!
► JDM clear side markers : choose from your favorite 86 shop!

I tried this a few weeks ago and couldn't get the connector to disengage. Until I watched this video and saw how Justin did it. The clip is facing the passenger side, so as shown you just have to find the center of the clip and push forward and down. No problem. I thought this might help someone else who had trouble. Thanks for this Justin!

The glove compartment can be removed also. Would it be easier from there?

Recently did this. I enjoy driving the car much more. The fake engine sounds hinder the stock stereo.
