Marked only tanjiro is not even a match for akaza bc when giyu unlocked his mark, tanjiro cleared that their movements were fast
So there's no chance marked tanjiro can beat akaza



But




When tanjiro unlocks stw, tanjiro slams akaza mid diff
Bc tanjiro after unlocking stw clearly stated these words in manga-
" It's weird, is time moving slow?, No their movements are appearing slow to me, and my movements got faster than before and that's how I dodged an unavoidable attack, so, this is the thing what dad told me before, i can use this to my best"
Then we know he one shotted akaza
So, think about it, tanjiro who can't follow their movements, now able to see them in slow motion and oneshotted blood lusted akaza



Another example is
muichiro got stomped by base kokushibo but that changed after he unlocked stw,
He literally kept up with awakened kokushibo, saved sanemi and dashed towards him without any support from Gyomei
