My grandma passed unexpectedly in July. Shannon’s story spoke to me. I love my grandma so much and I miss her. Grandmas are the best.

Somebody tell Ocho that every time he remembers his grandmother telling him that she loves him- she is talking to him.

That made me cry. Granny and Papa did their job. Shannon, you released her to go home. ❤️❤️

Him mentioning that his granny might have not said "I love you" but showed it is not really weird in the black community. Its the same thing for me. A lot of our people for whatever reason if they had a choice between actually saying the words or moving a mountain to show it, they rather move the mountain. Its probably changing nowadays though.

I'm a retired hospice nurse. God Bless you, Shannon. You gave your Grandma peace. She was ready to go and is in a better place.

This hit hard . I still feel my wife with me even though it’s been 2 years since she passed. She may not be here physically but spiritually I feel her and she’s watching over me and our kids.

Shannon, I was in tears. It reminded me of when I gave my Dad permission to go, I had my mom and brother. HUGS. He needed to hear from his baby it was ok to go.

It’s so refreshing to see our brothers just have a conversation. With all of the chaos going on in the world it’s just good to have you both being so visible. God bless you both❤

I lost my grandma this past March. One of the last things she said to me was *”Don’t Cry”* that lives rent free in my head. I still have dreams and nightmares about her. I’m in school right going for a nursing degree and I hate hate hate that she won’t get to see me graduate. Her and my mom are my everything. I also drive past my grandma’s house everyday when I leave work. That’s the way I go home and I’m always in utter disbelief that she’s not here anymore. She took me in both times I was kicked out of brothers dads place. I stayed with her for maybe a decade if I added up all the time I was living with her in my life. She always listened to Jazz music, she loved Anita Baker and all the lovely old school music. I can’t listen to any old school music without getting emotional. She was 69 when she passed. I love you grandma.

Shannon's the kind of person, that eeeevery body wants him to show up for every family function and every holiday gathering. If he's not going to be there then nobody wants to come, definitely the life of the pardy and a great story teller. ❤🙌🏽

Ocho, your mom and grandma speak to you in simple signs that represent something greater, like flowers, birds, or a scent . Something that you associate with them. They are there with you
