Canary Flex Camera Review- Great Indoor/ Outdoor Option?
Показать описание
Note: As of February 5th, 2019, all Canary cameras come with person detection.
The #CanaryFlex comes with 1080p, but depending on your connection it may actually stream in 720p. This is dependent on a number of factors, but the potential quality is great and the general quality is good.

The #CanaryFlex has an interesting capsule. It has a couple of color schemes, but we have the black version. The Canary also has a smooth double tap or pinch on the screen for zooming in. Unfortunately, the field of view on the Canary Flex is only 116 degrees. The two-way audio on the Canary Flex works well and is useful for directing people in a room or talking to a child arriving home from school. However, like the Canary All-in-One Home Device, it is weird to talk about two-way audio on the Canary Flex because it requires the premium membership.
The night vision on the Canary is solid and allows the viewer to get a good idea of what is going on at night from up to 25 feet away. It has infrared LED lights, which really help to present clear black and white footage. The Canary comes with no local storage, but has various options for cloud storage. It comes with 12 hours of footage, but for $10 a month or $99 a year you get 30 days of cloud storage. The smart platform integration on the Canary Flex is pretty strong because it connects to both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The artificial intelligence on the Canary Flex is limited to person detection and schedule learning, but the company says that it will be rolling out more artificial intelligence in the future.
The Canary Flex is a good value without the subscription, but a great value if you were planning on paying for plan for a premium plan with your indoor home camera. The premium subscription (Canary membership) provides extended cloud storage, but also allows you to use the two-way audio. The Canary was very easy to set up and did not take us more than 15 minutes. The convenience was bolstered by the App, which was not only beautiful, but intuitive. Overall, the Camera did well on the Security Baron's Necessary Features Test. Our concerns are that if you need local storage and do not want to pay for a premium membership then you may want to look at a different option.
