I love Daisy, she's really putting herself out there and I know she feels vulnerable at times. But all I can say is she is a great talent and the force has yet to recognize the true potential that she really is 😊

Daisy Ridley is a true gift to this world ❤️‍🔥

Nice try to get her to insult the fans. Maybe insulting fans isn't such a good strategy. Maybe that's why a channel that allegedly has 4.2 million followers puts out a video that only has 8, 700 views and 24 comments.

“Sometimes I Think About Dying" is truly a touching and beautifully made and performed film. Daisy Ridley has range!

It's not about gender! We are not criticizing Charmeen because she is a woman, we are criticizing her because of her controversial comments, she is an activist and we just want a good story...

NO ONE is or has ever said they are against a female director. that is media lies. and i do not think anyone dislikes Daisy. people dislike how badly the writers handled the Rey character. and it is crazy that ANY inexperienced director would be hired straight into a massive franchise like Star Wars, the great directors that made great films LEARNED their craft through years of experience before they make some huge budget big blockbuster epic film. the basic idea for the story can be great, the basic idea for the story of The Force Awakens had a lot of good ideas in it, but EVERYTHING was executed wrong and the script around the basics was bad. and it IS going to happen again with these inexperienced people in charge.

I have posted this before but I think that it fits here too. However people feel about the sequels, absolutely none of it should be on Daisy Ridley. I can’t wait for her to return just like I couldn’t wait for Hayden Christensen and Ahmed Best to return!

Yes, keep twisting the narrative why don't you. Star Wars has had female involvement from the start, and nobody had an issue with any of it... when you force the message more women need to do things just because than whoever is qualified is where the issue arises... and with Sharmeen, it is a valid question... she has no experience with a project of this magnitude... she is a documentarian, not a film director... and her involvement on The Marvels tv show, most of her work was re-shot without her. She was brought on to bring a feminist slant... a message only... and no experience to a role to a franchise that should have more qualified people to direct, women or men. The fanbase liked the Mando eps that were directed by female directors like you said... with Deborah CHow and Bryce Dallas HOward, so you have contradicted your own narrative. Taking a bunch of toxic trolls as representing the majority of the fanbase argument is disingenuous and why there is so much ill will towards Disney and Disney Star Wars.

Daisy Ridley is immensely gifted. Her non-Star Wars films after Chaos Walking (which has failed and misused Daisy's talent) are quite good. Ophelia was fantastic and Sometimes I think about Dying is just brilliant work. Looking forward to her return as Rey Skywalker in New Jedi Order, and any other pictures she has lined up.

Dylan, within the Star Wars community, the concern isn't rooted in gender dynamics for project leadership. It centers on Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's dual roles as a filmmaker and activist. A prevailing unease arises from entrusting a major franchise to an individual whose primary identity is associated with activism, and whose directorial experience in such expansive ventures is limited. While societal messages hold value, the paramount consideration remains the imperative for a narrative of substance, propelled by intricately developed characters

They didn't say they didn't want a female director they just heard that the director said she likes to make men uncomfortable which put a lot of people off.

This simply shows how biased the media is. That was such a dishonest question. If a male director made any comment remotely close to 'I like to make women feel uncomfortable' this effing 'reporter' would be saying that he shouldn't be directing Star Wars. Yet when the shoe is on the other foot, 'oh how do you feel about the fans being sexist?' I have so much respect for Daisy, I've never once hated her for her role as Rey I simply hated the writing and felt bad that she had to play such a horrible character. My respect for her grew so much more with this because she didn't rise to the bait. Shame on this 'reporter' for this terrible question.

Literally no one said they didn't want a female director. Just not THAT director.

Nobody has anything against a female director. It’s that they’re focusing on pushing an agenda, instead of just good writing.

I totally read this title wrong, I thought she was depressed or something.

The problem with the Rey character is she's the daughter of a Palpatine and she came at the expense of getting proper Solo Twins and a proper Sequel Trilogy based on George's ideas. It just ruined the story and canon of the 6 films. Its not Daisey's fault though!

About the only thing they could do to fix the Star Wars brand is relabel 7, 8, 9 as 10, 11, 12 and do George's Sequels with Darth Talon, Maul and the Solo Twins and Heir to the Empire then send the Solo twins off to Peridea with Ahsoka or Ezra so the sequels can still happen. Then give Rey some kind of arc and that would fix everything.
