The disadvantages of north cyrpus are lack of mcdonalds, buying garbage on amazon and it's warm in the summer? Could you please try harder to find real problems to talk about. I have full 4.5G internet here, you can order everything from turkey and istanbul is 2 hours away on a $100 flight. I wish i got the 10 mins of my life back

Having lived in North Cyprus for two years as an American, I can say it was a challenging experience, and not always in a good way. There are some serious issues that really affect daily life, and I wish someone had given me a clear picture before I made the move. I’ll be sharing the pros and cons in more detail in an upcoming YouTube video, but here’s a quick summary.

One of the biggest frustrations is the lack of consistent access to essentials: water, electricity, and reliable internet. Outages are frequent, and the quality is a far cry from what you’d expect in the U.S. Dealing with immigration is another story entirely—think of it as a comedy of errors where nothing goes as planned. If I had enough patience, I could write an entire (humorous) book on those adventures alone.

Real estate is another eye-opener. When you buy something, it’s more like a time-share than real ownership because reselling is nearly impossible, so it’s yours for as long as you’re there, but with limited flexibility. And if you love to shop or unwind at a mall, you’ll be disappointed.

Rules and regulations feel almost non-existent or change without notice, making you truly appreciate the stability and order back in the States. North Cyprus does have some beauty and charm, but overall, if you’re considering moving here, make sure you’re prepared for these challenges. It’s not for everyone, and you might find yourself feeling disappointed.

I have moved here to North Cyprus to study, as do many students on the island. This is because the acceptance rate is high and the tuition is not that expensive. However, I regret coming here and I wish the borders were open. My passport is already the worst in the world, let alone being stuck on a part of an island that limits your travel. I cannot apply for any visas anymore. I can't go to turkey. I can't do anything but wait and hope some stuff work in my favor. I am trying my hardest to get out of here as I regret coming in the first place.

If you do plan on coming to Cyprus whether it is to north or south, always go through the South, the right way.

As an American, I'm very, very confused. Maybe "disadvantage" means something different in Cyprus. All the things you discussed sound like Positive Reasons to move to Cyprus...The People are Friendly (that's a Bad thing?), The Weather is Wonderful (Huh?), No McDonalds and I will be "forced" to eat fresh and tasty food. I think you have convinced me that I need to get a plane ticket to Cyprus. How do you say thank you??

She is referring to a militarily occupied zone and selling off property illegally. She is a cheap con artist.

I did an ancestry DNA test recently and I found out that I am 19% Cypriot so I guess I must visit this beautiful island someday! Thanks for the video, you deserve more views and likes!

If you want to live longer, breath fresh air and less stress in your life, move to North Cyprus.

I bought a property in Northern Cyprus this year. To be honest, I researched it 6 years ago and now the prices are 3 times more expensive. But the prices are still much cheaper than the south. I hope it will be profitable.🤔

Why do you not tell people that most of the land are stolen from the Greek Cypriots and sold to the foreigners illegally.

Reason No1..you don't know if your property is really legal.(Unless if you pay a good lawyer to find out).reason no2 you can't find easily food products ( for example pork ) and clothing brands your family wants....reason no3 it's not a place that you can have any activities you want to do.(Except swimming, some archeological places, ).unless you are above 80 you will love it..reason no4 restaurants are cheap but not value for money (I mean you really get what you pay but very low quality foods) except doner offcourse..I went everywhere in Cyprus..but differences are lot up in North.. the worst restaurant of Limassol is even better of the best in kerynia.

In US, the internet is also not reliable and very slow, as well as in Germany.
Again in US, there is a lack of public transport, so most Americans are highly dependent on their personal cars.
To reach many destinations around the World, people need to travel via main hubs like Amsterdam, London, Dubai and Istanbul.
So what is the topic here? A trash pointless.

I have been living in the north for 10 years, property prices are going sky high, village houses are cheaper. The only thing i will say is getting residency is a pain, and they constantly change the 'what you need' to obtain it. So check before you buy a property, apart from that it is a nice place to live, air quality, weather are all very good

I can't move to the north of Cyprus because the Turks have illegally invaded our land, and my family can't go to our family house.

I have been living in northern cyprus for over than 5 years and I have never seen any advantage of living in the northern cyprus... The universities of this place are not recognized in most of countires around the world (like Canada, Poland, Egypt, Greece, Syria, Iraq, Jordon, Algeria, Armenia, and Cyprus (south))... Every thing expencive.... Recism.... No justice...not safe place...

I do not recommend comming northern cyprus!
