Ey jeff, is there a tweak or way to filter youtube searches on "today" or "this month"?

Is it still possible to watch the videos if you block the YouTube app using the stock iOS feature?
I always block it so that it doesn't open up the terrible stock YouTube app when I open a YT-Link.

you can do this without jailbreak, settings > general > restrictions > youtube

You can hide the Yt-Application via Apples Redtriction Settings. And i have no problems
