Nice. I think maybe a cladded dormer or finished with vertical plain tiles would look better.

I watched for the joist install and got hooked. Great job, well done. The music though...I hope it's not your band or something but I genuinely shut the sound off through most of the videos, mostly because the music is shit but also because it is so much louder than the audio.

I think I am correct in stating that you need to clip down the edges of your flashing to stop it lifting in the wind. I guess there are some cleats out there to do the job, but you would have to check.
As a general point and when the job has been finished, it would be interesting to see over the coming years if any problems manifest as a result of what you have done. If so, what was it that caused the problem and how did you rectify it. Hopefully this won’t be the case, but as a DIYer like yourself, I would be interested to see if your workmanship stands up to the Welsh weather and everything that gets thrown at it! I am currently in the middle of a bathroom refurb and so in some ways in the same boat. I suspect I will make decisions that may come to haunt me down the line! Sometimes, you just have to suck it and see! Good luck to you.
