I understand that the brace restrains the displacement of that point. But I think that the boundary conditions at that point are clamped because there is a continuity in the column and it is not free to rotate at that point

I understand that the brace restrains the displacements at the midpoint. But I think that the boundary conditions at midpoint should be clamped instead of pinned for the weak axis because there is a continuity in the column and the midpoint is not free to rotate

Is it really mandatory to consider the strong axis part because we know for sure that it wont fail at the strong axis
