The double loop is a fun jump to learn, as the skater has many options for entries to try and see what works best for them.
❌Some common mistakes on the double loop jump include:
- Dropping the skating side on the take off
- Tracking foot sliding out as the edge increases
- Pulling the curve too deep into the circle
- Not getting enough launch to finish rotation
- Upper body swinging too fast around the curve
Here are some TIPS to think of for your double loop.
1️⃣Make sure the front foot tracks over the gliding back foot
2️⃣The back arm is lifting higher than the shoulder
3️⃣The front foot continues to glide facing the direction of the jump as the edge begins to increase
4️⃣Maintain the shoulders and hips moving through together
🔑to Success….think someone is pulling you back slightly first before increasing the edge to maintain good direction.
