You know the 'tides are changing' when Nightwing clears out a whole shelf just for adidas shoes

The reason why that shoe was worn during the 1995 playoffs was because the NBA fined MJ $5, 000 (i think) for not adhering to the team dress code policy. Starting in 1989 all Chicago Bulls players have to wear black shoes everytime they play in the postseason. Jordan wore the test run 11 concords prematurely and when he paid the fine he decided to wear Penny's Air Flight One to avoid another fine which pissed off Nike officials. After that they made him this "Space Jam" colorway so MJ can continue wearing the 11's for the rest of the series.

Great review! Thanks for letting all the young kids know how the OG 11s used to look. When these came out in '95 I was 19 and I remember that these actually sold out in Orlando from size 10 thru 13. Came back a week later to my local FTL and they had plenty of pairs, CRAZY!

That white line has been standing out to me for the last several months. It detracts from the clean black upper. On the flip side, it's good to know that it's because of the real leather grain. I just wish the grain was dyed black. Thanks for calling it out by the way, you're the only one I've seen thus far.

As far as the name, it's combined. Space Jam is what people have been wanting and identifying with. The other side is the OG fanatics of the game and not so much the movie collaboration.

Nightwing2303, before MJ came back right before the playoffs they where going to have certain players signed to Nike show off the model and this colorway was going to be worn by Nick Anderson of the Orlando Magic.

First off Nightwing i'm a big fan as we have the same tastes in sneakers. I was raised in the 90s in Philly and have seen ogs in person and have had them also. So Keep doing ya thing homie and I'm fan of your reviews. i'm tired of all these dumb nicknames for jordans. Does it even matter what they are called? i remember back when i was a kid they were just called the black jordan 11s or clear bottom playoff if i can remember, there was no gimmick nicknames for j's, then when the movie came out everyone was calling them the shoes he wore in spacejam, so that's when the nick name Spacejam was associated with the shoes. So by 2000 / 2001ish if i can remember people officially started calling them space jams. To all the people complaining on what they should be They are simply SpaceJams. The Jordan 11's were the playoffs but no one knew that until the space jam so therefor the shoe was dubbed "The Space Jam."

They are actually called the BLACK Concords. Look up jumpmanbostic review on them. Also a cool name for the release should of been the Banned 11s. Would’ve been dope
