Ursus C-3150 Power: Tractor Review
Показать описание
The Ursus C-3150 Power made us wait a bit, but now we got to test one of the first seven delivered worldwide. It comes with well-established components from Bosch, ZF and Deutz. Will the biggest bear (lat. "Ursus") be a price breaker?
--
At last, Ursus‘ strongest tractor yet, is at work on European fields. The Polish manufacturer promises a strong, but affordable tractor. Yet, they definitely didn’t go for cheap components. So will the C-3150 Poer be farmers‘ favourite discount tractor?
At first, it tested our patience. The passenger seat is big and comfortable, but doesn’t fold away. That makes it harder to get to the driver’s seat.
The steering wheel, does, too. Most of the steering column is fixed. You can only adjust the final inches, using a somewhat unwieldy clamping lever. An the gear lever, comes with view of the road.
Doesn’t matter, we though to ourselves, because by the end of the day, we are looking for perfomance on the field.
You switch main gears via pedal and lever, and via button between four powershift gears. There is an extra button that operates the clutch. But even the farmer who had been running the tractor for some months was still using the pedal.
The powershift gearbox by ZF has been on the market for about 20 years.
We really liked the machine’s looks. Ursus is latin for bear. And the designers made the chief of bears look tall, dignified and aggressive. Successfully, we think.
The engine is like an old aquaintance. The 6.1 liter, six cylinder diesel by Deutz also gets fitted to some Fendt as well as Deutz-Fahr series. However, this particular example doesn’t get turbocharged too much. While Deutz-Fahr uses a version with up to 287 horse power, and Fendt up to 246 horse power, Ursus sticks to a maximum of 150, and lets the engine have a quiet life.
The hydraulic pump is made by ZF and delivers up to 90 liters of oil per minute. Ursus build the lower links themselves. The bear stems up to 7.2 tons here. The double-acting hydraulich valves come from Bosch.
Once on the road, you will soon notice the Polish engineers decided not to fit any extra suspension to the axle or the cabin. You cannot even get one as an option.
Our conclusion. Regrettably, you cannot really rearm the chief of bears with optional features. But if you like the concept the way it is, you will not be disappointed. Because one thing is for sure: Ursus engineers haven’t done any experiments.
