Rejecting your patronymic is a disrespect to your father. I am still Mikhaylovich even in my american passport

Any time I hear the combination of Anastasia and Russia, I immediately think of the show Anastasia

For our American audience, here are two examples:
1. Michail Borissovitch Vladimirov, translated literally Michael Son-of-Boris Vladimirov
2. Natalya Borissovna Vladimirova, translated literally Natalie Daughter-of-Boris Vladimirov.

Nobody uses Nastya with a patronymic, it’s either Nastya or Anastasia Olegovna

Russians have other names too, for every level of intimacy, which is why the novels of Dostoyevsky can be hard for English speakers to follow.

Nastya is a diminutive of Anastasia. Americans also have diminutives for many names.

As someone adopted from Russia, this is really interesting to me. I was adopted at 9 months so I had no idea about any of this!

In Greece too, we dont have middle name. Also have a short versions of our name. Like Nastya or Tasia or Tasa or Stasa for Anastasia. Dinos or Kostas or Kostis for Konstantinos.

Guys, as a Russian, she isn't spy. We don't need spies in the US anymore, because since tomorrow we will have our main agent Donald Trump in White House😂
