From someone who's played since nearly the beginning, you aren't doing too much wrong with the shark. It's hard to play as the shark unless you're with someone you can communicate with via voice. As the Great White, you're the tankiest shark, but have the worst stamina of them all. You want to get in, activate your E and tank damage while swimming away as fast as you can whilst killing the diver. You can go in frontally as the GW with your E but no shark can stay in the diver's fire for long unless they can't aim for crap. Spearguns will still 2-3 shot you.

Right now you're staying around too long and not really watching your stamina. Don't go through walls you just broke, they expect you there and will shoot blindly. Break them and go around to attack from another angle. Don't forget Divers get a heartbeat sense when you're nearby so they'll be expecting you if you dive right in from spawn. Just because Steve is returning to the boat doesn't mean it's game over; it's actually your best bet. Steve's return path keeps the divers in motion and generally pulls them across open expanses, especially in maps like Crude, where Steve goes straight through the darkest and most open part of the map near the end.

Don't be too afraid to die, just make sure you take at least 1 or 2 divers with you when you do; they technically have more tickets than you. (Start as 4 + 30 tickets = 34, while sharks start as 2 + 30 tickets = 32) after all, dying is how you upgrade! Divers can only upgrade through money gained by gathering treasure on the ocean floor, not by killing you.

I'm not perfect in the game at all and I lose a lot, too, but I hope I can offer some sort of help/insight! Though I mainly play as the Mako and don't have too much experience with the Great White.

Of course it's obvious how new you were to the game at this point, especially because I'm coming from watching Ohmwrecker play it, but I can't say anything because I've never played it myself so I don't know how hard it is. And I gotta say, despite how you often have issue figuring the game out, you seem to learn pretty quickly and it's so fun to watch just because it's obvious you're having such a good time. You're so happy and energetic the whole time and it's great to see.
