Am I the only person that noticed that about a third of the way into a program on Baroque art it cuts to a program about the Metaphysical Poets? I do wish whoever uploads these videos checked them first.

Baroque reaches its peak in Brazil when it had already come to an end in Europe. In my country, the Baroque was the artistic phenomenon dominating the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. This is rarely taken into account or mentioned in Art History documentaries.

Please, do a video about neoclassical art, the one between baroque and romanticism 🙏

There are quite a significant amount of paintings wrongly put in this series of works of art while talking about baroque, and that can be confusing: for instance there’s a very famous Poussin (Arcadia) which is a very Neoclassical work, or the Galatea ceiling at the Farnese Palace, which is very Renaissance.

What does the Scots Rebellion in the 1700s have to do with Baroque Art?

The phrase 'Scraping The Barrel' springs to mind. 😞 Please; better no videos than this sort of effort!

Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobite Rebellion are the least baroque things I can think of, but on topic until then. 🤔

Interesting take, having Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobite rebellion and their influence on Baroque. Did I miss Louis 14th?

The editors missed a typo in the Baroque definition card; the “l” was left out of “flamboyant.”

Annibale is pronounced an-EE-bal-eh. Several of the works shown in your video are not in the Baroque style, by the way, in spite of their being painted in the 17th century—most outstanding are the Poussin (Neoclassical) and the Raphael (Renaissance: very early 16th century).

I don't want to cast about hate.
But i hate people who think they are great masters.
The comment on art is irrelevant, if it is not your own..
If you can't make art. Stop talking about it!.

An affectation is not a resort to enlightenment.
Renaissance was an album by The Ministry of Sound.

Mannerist - Baroque - Rococo - the best of the best! How come no one has ever ever done anything more epic than Tiepolo? There are many millionaire artists and many old world buildings with empty ceilings left but none of these contemporary artists have the talent, muscle power or feel that taking a year or four to paint something epic in situ to make a spectacular experience using pigments, light and scale is worth their precious time - they could paint a hundred lesser works and sell them because money is all the art world really tells the public that artists should strive for.
It wasn't photography that made epic art 'out of style' it is pure laziness, physical weakness and greed from this society of disgustingly rich and unfairly poor - the art world has stalled our growth by telling us for an entire century now that low effort jokes like urinals and cans of poop are worth time and money and that an artist is only worth what the money says they are worth. University art programs are just fast food fine art training - they dangle Michelangelo as the bait and then force students to memorize un-related things instead of giving them time to practice properly (I had to take 30 extra years after being an art student to learn the Classical Tradition) - I refused to graduate from SIUC because they forced me to write a 'thesis statement' before I was ready to feel worthy of even being an apprentice in Raphael's studio - I flat out refused, just like I refused to make plates and cups instead of animal sculptures out of porcelain clay - I am not writing some kind of 'contract' that limits my growth - Michelangelo didn't write such an arbitrary 'spell' to get a 'degree' (hey i know 1/360 skills aren't you proud) - he just lifted more weights and learned where the light and shadows on muscles should go - you do know that Michelangelo, Rubens and Tiepolo were physical 'bad asses' right? they weren't foppish posers in berets splattering their feelin's on little canvases to be sold and resold for eternity as investments - they made fine art of the most difficult kind using solid theories of color, composition and hard physical work to create parallel worlds where their characters, animals and environments inspired awe - they set the boundaries for what 'real' art could be and a challenge for future generations to undertake as you have to study, practice and basically be fit - be the best humans they could be - a Renaissance Man wasn't just a guy who could DO all those things but a man who inspired the public by his example of hard work and gave illustrations and context for the culture - it was a big responsibility and their work has not been 'bested' and never will except by a few weirdos like me who might get a chance to try - at least I WILL try as this is the best of the best to try for and I will honor my creator by taking these examples of real artists and emulating them within the limits of my capabilities and circumstances - there is no failure when you try to be epic - only when you stop growing to start selling lesser works.
