Harp & Piano Mashup - A Bird Came Flying - Landscape Music by Anne Van Schothorst

Hi all! If you enjoyed my latest Harp vs. Piano battle last week, you might enjoy this music mashup of my previously published video where I blend both versions alternating harp and piano , and where both instruments seemingly respond to each other. I initially created this mashup as a short teaser video for my Facebook page... This mixing approach was also inspired by nice creative suggestions I received from AltoonaYourPiano and Patricia Friedson (thank you both for your fantastic comments which I always greatly appreciate!) encouraging me to blend both instruments together

And in case you are not yet familiar with Anne Van Schothorst’s wonderful work, I really recommend checking out her lovely approach to minimalist compositions and landscape music, beautifully illustrated in “A Bird Came Flying”, a piece she wrote inspired by a poem called “De Vogel” by Dutch writer Ida Gerhardt and which I am performing here.

Hi again. I have listened to this over and over. It is amazingly beautiful, and as AltoonaYourPiano wrote, putting the instruments together helps one hear each in a new way. I loved this! Simply divine! I enjoy both the mashups and the competitions. I noticed when the two are played side by side you can hear different sounds in both that you normally don't hear, that give both a mildly harpsichord-esque sound because you notice the similarities in both to the old harpsichord. Happy Easter! This was an awesome Easter surprise.
