How to start a Nonprofit in NC/ Steps to starting a Nonprofit

Hey y’all! I’ve been doing research on starting nonprofits lately. My passion is providing therapeutic resources for underserved/underprivileged communities so looking into the steps that it takes to start a Nonprofit seemed very beneficial. I wanted to share some information that I found with others who may also be interested in going the Nonprofit route. Please feel free to comment on any other information that you may have regarding this process just to help others out as well!!

As of January 2020, no more paper tax exempt status forms are accepted. They have moved online and the links are under the 1023 Forms section below.

I think you can team up with a nonprofit and do a dba (Doing Bussiness As) under their name while your waiting. I love your energy, thanks for sharing!!

Thank you so much for creating this video! I am currently in the process of founding my non-profit as a teenager. When you registered through the secretary of state's website did you list your board of directors or did you do that after you registered your nonprofit? Thank you!

The hardest part which I’m finding a problem finding an example on or any kind of help are the provisions. A lot of other states are not required to have provisions but nc is and I can’t even find an example
