The fact that you can see through the window really helps with baking and the double element makes it a winner.
This cake was really nice despite the sinking cherries

175 g Butter / or soft spread at room temp
175 g Caster sugar
3 large Eggs

Hi Graham and Wendy. Like your channel, and your friendly sense of humour when you're cooking together . Regarding your recent cherry cake recipe might I suggest that you try having the mixture a little bit stiffer if you make it again. I've had failures like this in myself a few times due to the mixture being to soft . Best regards, Brian

Wendy and Graham I did a bit of digging to see if there was something else that might stop the cherries sinking, I found a baker who said that the cherries should be washed and patted dry the day before use and this removes the sticky coating which apparently causes the cherries to sink because their to heavy, he also floured them but he added some ground almonds too to the cherries. He also said that try not to have a too soft cake batter, don't have a clue how to do that, lol. When I try it out I'll give you a shout to let you know if he was talking crap or not. Sorry for the rude word but what else to say🤣🤣🤣

Hi there again Graham and Wendy, getting back to your cherry cake again, yes just a bit more flour a little at a time until the mixture just just drops steadily of the beaters on your hand mixer. I use a hand mixer similar to yours and stir the flour in without switching it on at first and then it doesn't blow about all over the place, then continue with the mixer as usual. Hope this helps. I have a flour sifter like yours which I saw on your channel first, its great. Keep up your sense of humour Graham whatever you do. Brian.

It looks delish. I'd have a thick slice with maybe some butter on.

Try cooking the cake without the cherries in for 10 minutes or so then add the cherries on top to see if they sink to the bottom.

Did you slice the cherries in half if not the weight of a whole sinks down to the bottom that's what my gran use to do when I was a girl helping her

Never mind, it still has the cherries in it, and is edible, it could have been worse, the cherries could have jumped out and run away, still a beautiful Moorish cake though 👍💕🤚💯💐

Hi Graham and Wendy that cosori is very demanding telling you to add food where do you get your class A cherries from local dealer 😮 with regards to the sunken fruit you should have turned the cake half way through 😊
