Japanese Shop Makes Hyper-Realistic Masks from Real Faces

Sell your face or buy a new one? This unique mask shop in Tokyo, Kamenya Omote, started selling masks of real people’s faces. The shop buys the right to use people’s faces and by utilizing the 3D-printing technology, reproduces them into hyper-realistic masks. JapanPro interviewed the shop owner and tested what’s it’s like to wear hyper-realistic masks with other people’s faces.

Back in the mid 70's when I was in the 3rd grade a Japanese-American artist came to make our personal mask using plaster to pour over our faces. It was a terrible experience since I was cluster-phoebic & I hyperventilate for 2 minutes while a camera crew was recording us. So embarrassing...now it's cutting edge technology!

It would be hilarious if you make one of a world leader and just walk around or a dictator or something to see how people act I would love to get one that has Napoleon's face to see what happens when I walk around France if I could visit Japan I would buy like 50

Maybe if you make it out of something soft(maybe like rubber) and glue it to the parts of the wearer face (like lips and cheeks) with a soft adhesive then that mask might look truly no different than a normal face :D
