I loved nonstick pans, and then I bought an all clad skillet. It's now the only thing I use, and I don't even notice the tiny bit of extra work.

My parents are masters in ruining any pan. I grew up with each pan only survicing one use, as afterwards they'd be put into the dish washer which was quite a bit more aggressive than today's models. I did gift my mom a huge ceramic coated pan about 15 years ago and it still goes strong . Somewhen around 10 years ago they finally switched to handwashing pans, after destroying each and every pan since 1980 (stainless steel was the sole 'survivor').

In my case it definitely wasn't mechanical abuse that ruined my ceramic pans in only a few months. After some research it was probably oil that burned in somehow and ruined the non-stick properties. I'm using carbon steel or stainless now, no problems.

It's frustrating, but also interesting, that your winner among the ceramics contrasts sharply with the reviews I'm seeing elsewhere. The valencia pro is consistently scoring poorly with other reviewers. I wonder if it's down to inconsistent construction, or whether different testing methods just favour different brands.

*What's the point of mishandling, abusing and obviously not following instructions? Almost all product manufactures have instructions on use of their product, and many times the consumer will be warned it may void any warranty if not followed. Those that choose to disregard instructions can expect the product to perform poorly. Yes, there may be exceptions to that and the product may continue to perform well, bonus! The real question is if one follows instructions does the product perform as expected. This will take time, using the pans everyday or almost everyday and to continue to follow manufactures instructions will give a real life answer to the question, does this product do what the manufacture claims?*

I've been to multiple homes that have Caraway cookware and it looks GODAWFUL. These viral cookware companies are laughing all the way to the bank.
