For years been looking at utube guitar TUTORIALs on RIFFs/Chords, you are the ONLY instructor to give so much more than just focusing on the left/right fingers, it was a COMPOSITION, ENGINEERING, HISTORY lesson all in one. I AM OFFICIALLY a humble SUBSCRIBER sir!!!

Those songs are exactly the songs I learned over 50 years ago. Playing has made my life Much more Enjoyable. Still Picking like a rock star, but the clock is ticking.
I have a rig any player would love and its ready at a moments notice. I will play till my last breath. 😎

The best beginning teachers are the ones with a pleasant personality like this guy cause that can curb some of that beginning frustration that can make or break a potential guitarist. I know, I stopped for ten years as a frustrated kid. This gentleman would've been perfect on my first try. PS. Carl! A great teacher should have a name : )

Love this. Thanks man. I've been playing and recording for years and realized long ago to mix up the tones (live and recorded, clean and distorted) to give better separation and depth. Thanks Brother.

That was really good. Been playing over 40 years. Wish I had someone to show me that kind of stuff when I was starting out. I had actually never gotten around to figuring out Communication Breakdown - a personal favorite - but now I know! Who says you can't teach and old dog new tricks? or an old player new licks?

Great to know how to play the riffs, but how to get the sound would also be nice. What about a part two of this video with amp or pedal settings?

Still play SOTW and Communication Breakdown, because they’re so much fun, and I like to put my own spin on them…
Keep in mind a Perfect 4th is a backwards Perfect 5
Fun to use in creating your own riffs

I haven’t done this again… lately… one thing I did way back in the day was record myself and date it (cassette) and throw it in a box somewhere… 2 3 4 months later or even a year later… when you don’t feel as if you are improving much… pop that old tape in!!! Big difference lol… huh?!

Carl, at 73, there's still much you teach me!! In my comments, I usually include a sartorial question for you. Today though, grab your hat, mask and sword and go audition for the remake of El Zorro!!!! You got it hands down!!
