Dear SG- I disagree, Rajiv Gandhi supported Farooq Abdulla and nullified Local elections in Kashmir where he was defeated. This created Muslim conference to support separatism and subsequently displacement of Kashmiri Pandit (I am KP myself). Congress and Rajiv Gandhi have mismanaged Kashmir a lot.

You missed references to Lata Mangeshkar, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Kishore Kumar.
As regards dynastic politics, there is a difference. Gandhis, Abdullas, Badals, Yadavs, Thakres, Karunanidhis, KCRs, Reddys, are the dynasties which can not be challenged within the party, they don't have to face any competition.
While dynast families in BJP have to face competition and challenge from within the party.

Disappointing CTC today, with several factual sleight-of-hand.

Federalism vs. Unionism, the latter of which India is, are not the same. For Shekharji to insinuate that our Constitution has a division of powers akin to America is very misleading. India is a "holding together" and not a "coming together" Union. States are fundamentally an administration division and do not share sovereignty with the center. We are an indestructible union of destructible states, very much unlike the USA.

Same with the situation with Kashimiri Pandit exodus and blaming Jagmohan while glossing over the actual culprits who are Islamic fundamentalists and the separatist lobbies. Going further and pushing BJP as guilt-by-association.

Unfortunate.

A political party will never accept the wrong they did, it is true for every party in India. Fact remains that congress ruled for most part of post independence india and as such while can take credit for all good done during that time, they will have to take responsibility for mistakes as well

BJP denied ticket to Manohar Parikkar's son in goa and ananth kumar's wife in Karnataka. Congress wouldnt have been able to do it.

IF students have to maintain 75% attendance why don't our parliamentarians have some minimum cutoff ?

Thanks for giving the explanation and clarification from Congress side. As there is nobody in Congress to do the same.

There was hardly any clutter to cut in this. PMs speech was political and nothing wrong in it being political. I like book recos. I somehow think SG and PK together can salvage the Congress party. PK is kept away aways, SG extending support from outside.

How many state governments has Modi government dismissed in last 8 years? Calling some civil servents to centre from state is not equivalent to dismissing elected state governments. Let's be rational when we compare.

Very disappointed by this CTC. You missed lot of important points from Modi's speech and focused on only defending Congress party. Missed points like Idea of India after 1947 and before 1947 and Congress's behaviour with Lata Mangeshkar and her family and Kishore Kumar.. You sometimes seems like a Modi hater if not a Congress fan. Try to be neutral. Really disappointed. I had started to really like your CTC epsiodes.

One of the biggest weaknesses of History, be it as a subject or as an issue, is that it is recorded in perspective. There is no such thing as an unbiased historical record. It is natural for it to be liable to be wielded as a weapon in any political discourse.

Your clarification on P. M.’s statements is good. Where was media when Kashmiri Pandits were killed and drawn out of Kashmir. You were a journalist, did you speak up then? No need to justify Congress, what they did in the past. I can see that you are very negative towards the P. M. Not surprise at all.

Sir, India is Union of States - which as per Constitutional Assembly debates is explained as "Indestructible Union of Destructible states" : Meaning, states have no right of exiting the Nation, and boundaries/ existence of states will be decided by the Parliament. This is unlike USA where "federal" govt cannot change state boundaries/ existence. States can also move out of US federation. Hence, India is Quasi Unitary (Not quasi federal state) in structure with less powers given to States.

I find it quite strange that a week before RG was full-on criticizing (necessary) the government but choses to be absent from the parliament when a reply/rebuttal to criticisms are expected.

As Modi said, the ecosystem will not show mirror to Congress 😂

It's getting very difficult for SG to remain impartial when it comes to domestic politics. His CTCs are only good for international news... For now.

These days most of the CTC episodes look like a payback by Guptaji to Congress for conferring on him the Padmabhushan award in 2009. Unlike The Wire, NDTV and quint, SG betrays his loyalty to Congress in a very subtle and intelligent way. Whenever people start to realize about his biased journalism he comes up with one isolated "Har ghar nal se jal" type of pro-government episode to prove his neutrality and then goes back again to his normal ways of presenting pro Congress biased opinion as facts.

What about 1950 to 1961 ? So the PM's point about the great delay in liberating Goa is right. Why not call a spade a spade, rather than try to find an alibi?

Sir I genuinely fail to understand what makes you so blind/biased whenever the gandhi dynasty is involved... Just have to steer clear of such CTC episodes I guess...
