Is it the order you use to open the hinges ? Believe they all kinda work together … linking like a combination lock?
What I do is keep forgetting that I need to set the middle link first then set the others … hence I’m on YouTube ! 😂
I’ve had mine for years with no issues except remembering the set up; perhaps I’ve been lucky

I just broke my right hand on one of those, what happen! Well, that clever quick push look hinges failed when I was at the second top half working; They just snap and I felt. I understand that they're good when new but, and it's a big "But", this kind of ladders are highly unsafe, this ladder hinges mechanism will fail as it ages.

So you did not show how to set up and then release the hinges, this was pointless

too narrow is hard to keep balance very thin steps make the feet sore
