One thing everyone seems to forget:

Garen's equipment and weapon are made of Petricite, from what I recall. It is far lighter than most metals, yet retains the durability of high-quality steel. Garen is certainly strong, but his armor is far lighter than it looks.

Darius' equipment is made of Black Iron, an extremely heavy metal that has insane durability and can be sharpened to a razor edge. Even with this armor, his movement is on par with if not greater than Garen's.

Garen isn't even on the same playing field as Darius; he's a bodyguard and elite commander, while Darius is one of the 3 leaders of Noxus and commands what is arguably the most fearsome armed fighting force on the face of Runeterra barring the Ascended Host. Garen was born into his position, Darius crawled his way to the top over a mountain of bodies. Even with his Ult, Garen is still at a major disadvantage against Darius in just about every category unless there is something empowering him or holding Darius back.

In a world of magic and monsters, fear the mortal man who has survived countless wars with nothing but a blade and his own grit.

I think garen would definitely give darius a go, but garen is still very young and so is surpassed by experience... This is the only difference and so I think the fight can go either way

Darius fought campaign after campaign for noxus since he was a kid, both as a simple soldier and later a general. He has far more experience in battle than garen so pretty sure he wins.

In the paper, darius wins but an actual lore fight anything could happen. Both are pretty equal to me, maybe even if they try they would'nt be able to defeat each other.
A super tie fight, i just want both of them kick other champions butts who's suposed to be strongest than humans.

most biased comparison i have seen. Garen's military anf combat prowess is known across runetera. Even Darius tries to spin like him and is baffled how he can do it.
Garen is faster and more durable. As far tactics they are comparable.
Darius wins in the damage department, he goes for bleeding out opponents.
Garen is also blessed by Kayle/possibly morgana.
Garens gear is also magical in nature, which is why he has a hard time fighting Sylas.
