Rescuer Catches Stowaway Seal

Usually, seals try to get away from us and avoid the rescue net at all costs. But not this one! He wasn't even the targeted animal, but he waddled right into our net. Unfortunately for him, he had to wait a little while, as we first had to rescue his entangled friend from a loop of plastic packing strap before we could attend to him and release him back into the ocean.

871. 871 seals rescued from marine garbage. That is both wonderful and horrifying. We know that this is the proverbial tip of the iceberg, and there will be an untold number of creatures both in the iceans and on land entangled in our garbage.
