A long time ago, there used to be these things called demo discs that allowed us to try games before they came out in stores. Pete takes a look back at history and shares some of the demo discs that are still in his library.

Do you still have demo discs of your own? Tell Pete about 'em! Leave a comment below or visit the Retro Unscripted Twitter or Facebook pages to share.

Hey fellow GAFfer and great video! The only demo disc I own is that SquareSoft Collector's CD Vol 1 because it came with Parasite Eve. Back then, it would have been great to get demo discs because I had a total of three very meh PS1 games in that generation. The special content sometimes on the PS2 and Xbox demo discs certainly would have also been a plus as well. but I just never subscribed to any magazines so I never got any demo discs really.

Great video first of all and I never owned any demo disk. I didn't have alot of money for many video games consoles and then a library of games for each consoles. I didn't know how great the Sony brand would be. That was why I never owned a PlayStation in it's hay day. Then after the 16 bit war I got the N64. But now I will be looking for some when I go game hunting.

Yup, the FFVIII demo did come with Brave Fencer Musashi! I have it. Not sure if there was any other way to get it, or if they made more than one variant.
