Hill Descent Control GMC DENALI

Hill descent control is an amazing feature on many SUVs and trucks. Let's review the hILL descent control on a 2019 GMC Denali.

Engaging the descent control does not use engine braking BUT uses computerized management of each tire independently based on traction and wheel slippage.

You set the speed and it maintains it. You do not need to be in four-wheel-drive or low or any other condition. When the button is pushed and this is released you return to normal driving mode.

It does not become active until the computer senses slippage. It is extremely useful.

Hi Joe!

I have a 2022 GMC Canyon AT4.

Question: Does your truck have to reach a certain incline to activate the hill descent or will it activate at any degree of incline?

I have not been able to activate mine. I don't think I've gone into a steep decline. Just wondering if that's the problem with mine.
