Hi:

The model I have is the VPCSA21GX/BI, which lists at $1299 (plus the extended battery).

As for sound, in general it is very quiet - I'm typing on it now in 'balanced' mode with the graphics in 'stamina' (i.e. integrated) mode. When I run high-end games the fan can get going pretty loud, but certainly less than the Alienware it replaces for me, or the older 17" Dell XPS my kids use.

Hi, I'm currently saving up for a newer laptop, since my current one is a single core and does not do any justice for me for any tasks. I'm really looking into getting a Lenovo Thinkpad T420 series, but Sony Vaio does seem to be thinner and having more modern updated outputs. My question is, are the hinges built well on this laptop? Is it really sturdy?
