Yugoslavia was literally a crossroad between east and west, so there was so much great music there, from folk, rock to jazz, and the mix of all of it too. Great musicians, great voices.

It was a band from Yugoslavia or today Bosnia. Many big bands and singers are from Bosnia like Indexi, Crvena Jabuka, Divlje Jagode and any more, I think most people agree with me.

Cool seeing English speaking folks enjoying some great old school music from Yugoslavia.
There's some other great bands from this time period to enjoy as well.

It is a rock version of a old Balkan folk dance. All the nations of former Yugoslavia and the Balkans are familiar with this dance. It is basically in the DNA of people of the region. The son is very popular with all the nations of former Yugoslavia

The intellectuals of the time called them the "shepherd's rock", because they were mixing the sound of a rock and roll with what you would expect to hear shepherds would play on the mountains, anyway they were the biggest band of Yugoslavia at the time and continued to preform the biggest live concert that ever happened with just one band performing: Live at Hipodrom in 2005. in Belgrade, with more than 220k people attending, sharing the first place of the most attended concert of a single performer in the history of the world, still today yeah (they are sharing it with Vasco Rossi in Modena park in 2017. - also 220k. people attended). So it's safe to say they suggested you the biggest band that ever happened in the world at this point. It's weird to say that, knowing there are Rolling Stones still out there and The Beatles were so huge and so on, but the numbers don't lie.

This was the last song of my childhood. At that time there was a beautiful and powerful country called Yugoslavia. The filth of politicians tore people apart. Ask anyone over 45 today, they would want that country back.😢

I love listening to Yugoslavian Rock 'n' Roll especially from Sarajevo seventies and eighties.
I want to recommend some songs that I like and you can also listen.

Bijelo dugme - blues za moju bivsu dragu

Zabranjeno pusenje - zenica blues

Riblja corba - komsije će da me biju

Divlje jagode - moj dilbere

I promise and guarantee you that one of these will be a favorite anyway

It's a mix of folkloric and rock mixture. Very clever.

This was really fun to watch. Grew up with Bijelo Dugme and seeing someone hear it "fresh" is really cool! It's like I heard it for the first time all over again
