Thank you for speaking out Nicole. Oddly enough I am of Hispanic background but grew up in what I now call White Privliege. I never had to experience any of the negativity of being hispanic, I'm from a small town and in my particular "bubble" life was good, I never treated anyone different so I thought the whole world lived like me. Now in my 60's I've had to deal with those unknown biases and I work at it everyday to be the person I always thought I was but now in the real world. I love this community and welcome Everyone to be a part of it.

Beautiful episode, Nicole. I watched the first half a few days ago and finished it tonight, and just wanted to thank you for speaking so eloquently about racism in the knitting community. I, like you, knew racism was present, but I wasn’t aware of how systemic and complex it is until these conversations started taking place on Instagram, and now that my eyes are opening to it, it’s changing the way I see things on a fundamental level. It’s been mind blowing, to say the least. :)

Your work is stunning, as usual. And those mushrooms! If you released a pattern for those, I’d be all over it. *nudge, nudge*

Thank you for your podcast. I hope you publish your woodland Christmas ornament patterns after the Maine workshop. I’m sure there are many of us that would love to make these ornaments.

Racism does exist and from time to time we are all guilty of it, we need to forgive ourselves for our failings but strive to do better by learning, listening and loving. You are a courageous and admirable podcaster Nicole I hope you are taking time to yourself and knitting is the place for that. Much love Penny.
