Izza and I just finished out modern house construction; now we're starting on finishing the basement to create a one bedroom apartment to bring in some extra income! Transforming your underutilized basement space into an income property is a great way to bring in some extra income and help pay off your mortgage faster! The real estate and rental markets in Ottawa, Ontario are crazy at the moment.
In this episode, we conclude our basement apartment series.. We found a tenant and she is moving in in a few weeks and we have a lot of work yet to do. Spoiler! We don't quite get it done. We finish a bunch of jobs like installing pre-hung doors, installing baseboards. I also run you through how to install door moldings. Finally, I finish building the big storage bench and explain to you how to do it.
This series is going to be a series of small construction vlogs as I tackle this DIY basement apartment remodel mostly by myself. Stay tuned!
