This video really sparked some ideas for me. A wooden frame on the ground will rot; a concrete slab is a lot of work. But this made me realize a great use-case for dry pour. It's a great base for composite deck, brick, tile because, ultimately, you don't care how it looks.

Trex deck is a great fix. Along with the lattice, the Trex is non-organic so it will not rot, and will last forever, has a solid base in the slab, and the lattice will allow the concrete to dry after rain. Well done.

i like the idea of the trex over the slab. me personally, i'd paint over the slab with a slip resistant finish. but looks good either way

That's a really good salvage. Good job and thank you. I'm worried I'll end up with a rocky top when I go to fix and level out one of my slabs. I was thinking it had to do with the thinness of the slab not letting the rocks work themselves down enough.
