It’s been a while since I’ve done a breakdown of the different types and styles of slinging so I figured I should make another one now that I am in beautiful Greece. Just have a great background haha. Also, things are going great training all the actors, having a ton of fun, and lastly, going to Athens and doing some sightseeing. Driving in Athens was a truly harrowing experience but worth it to see the sites haha.

It's so heartwarming to see you miss your family, while having the trip of a lifetime! Keep making the most of it and create many stories to share with them upon your return!

I really enjoy watching this because it gives me a great deal of respect for the sling. When you read about David using the sling to keep predators away from the flock you can see how effective it would be.

Now that you have talked about slinging techniques, can you talk next about how slingers would work in formation? Can you fire 'blind'? ie there is a slinger in front of you and you have no line of sight other than the formation captain declaring the range or would they best work skirmishing in loose formation with everyone having a clear line of sight. Would you fire by rank or as a unit or fire at will? How closely can you pack slingers together before they start to get in the way of each other?

Going a bit nerdy here but I think that is why slingers fell out of fashion after the ancient times. With archers, you can fire in dense formation. Talking about archers, there is also another famous unit in ancient history: the Cretan archers. I checked google map and Crete is just south of Greece. Maybe there might be a Ferry going there for a quick day trip? It would be interesting to know if the legend still persist until the modern day.

This is EPIC! You get to give slinging lessons at the best locale imaginable not just to the actors but also us. You've convinced me to give it a try. Thanks so much! Great demonstration, but it's really cool that you're being so generous with your time and sharing. I know it's tough being away from the fam. Saying a prayer for you brother 🙏
