Yamaha DX27 Sound Design Demo

Just a taste of what this classic FM synth can do.

The Dx27 is such a wonderful, straight forward, no nonsense, digital FM instrument. The sound is vintage digital for sure. It’s a great synth for getting acquainted with FM. 4-op FM is infinitely less complex than 6-op and the envelopes on the 27 are more intuitive than those on the dX7.

Cool:) Thanks for the video. I sold my DX100 and I think I'm going to grab one of these as I miss it although I do not miss those tiny keys!! I have a DX7 and a DX5 as well and if I could only get my hands on a DX1 I would never need another FM synth for as long as I live!

What preset patch did you start with before eventually programming it to get the sounds around the 4 minute mark???....Hopefully that question makes sense. I'm very new to this stuff but would love to know where you started so I can play around with it.

The 27/21 are 12 bit. The dx7 is 8 bit.
