The work that comes with fish keeping is part of the love we have for it. It's nice knowing we're putting in effort to give them the lives they deserve, can't wait to get a tank that size and wild out with fish lol!

Nice fish! I do 50% on my 125 peacock tank every week. Also a lot of large anubias might help

So when your doing water changes are you using your tap water if so what are you dosing it with when u fill it back up ? @KaveManAquatics

I've got a 63 gallon heavily planted medium stocking levels and I still do 80% water change what people who complain about big water changes don't understand is the plants not only remove nitrates but they remove beneficial nutrients from the water so adding fresh water will feed your plants and help your aquarium be healthy

Kave Man, how many fish do you have in that tank and roughly how high are the Nitrates before you do water changes?

What do you do with the water you change out. Do you run it through the garden or down the drain? I usually clean filters as through it as it drains into the garden.

You sure do keep the fish 🐠🐟 tanks looking good

What was the total NO3 reduction with the external refugium?

Have you thought about putting potho plants hanging out the tank it would pull a lot of the nitrates out of the water naturally.

I always wanted fish and after binging you channel I got a 90g and 20 cichlids over time. I most definately change 80% weekly. As I drain it with a 1800gph pump I fill a huge tote in the tub to refill. Takes 20 minutes, it's great.

I keep a large way overstocked including a turtle. Then was hospitalized for 4 months and couldn’t believe everyone was still swimming.
Do u use biological filtration? My can filter is stacked with biomedia between 4 layers of sponge & some floss. Water stays clear and parameters are all healthy. Also I use carbon in bags to help out & retain the contour of the substrate. Thanks, I’ve watched a lot of your content that got me started up right. Oh, a bunch of plants too.

I have a question when I do a water change sometimes my fish goes up to the top of the tank to breathe? Can u help by telling me what am I'm doing wrong ? And what should I do to prevent this and loosing any fish. Thanks

That means you're something isn't up to par and probably needs to be bigger. It is a larger system of live cultures
