“Losing My Mind” is a song I've written that reflects the reality of a day that will come when this world—our family, friends, and all those that support us — will ultimately leave us behind. And in that moment, our hope is that we have not also lost Allah as we transition through this temporary life. While we are alive, our soul faces a perpetual battle with this material world. Allah does not need us, but we need Him. Although we may stumble and fall, we hope to embody the truth that we are only as strong as our relationship with Him. The first few lines hit somewhere deep because you can immediately tell he’s addressing US. The people who listen to his work and follow him. I felt like he was talking to ME. And just simply stating the unwanted reality that one day we’ll forget him, just like our loved ones will forget us. This is so...vulnerable? Bare?.. Human?? It scared me at first, but wow, wow. I never expected him to show us this side...what a strong reminder that he’s human, we’re human, we’re all so, so HUMAN.
JazakAllah khair Siedd for always being so real to us, using your incredible talent to point people towards the right path...SubhanAllah. Gonna sit back and listen a few more times until I can think straight. May we never make out Lord leave us.
