The Theory That Says We DON'T Need Dark Matter

We take Newton's laws of gravity for granted. Surely the inverse square law is the most accurately tested law in physics, right? WRONG. Ironically, gravity has been tested more accurately in the cosmos, than in the laboratory. Today we discuss a fascinating lab experiment putting the inverse square law to the test!

I have to point out that the title doesn't quite reflect the content of the video. That is a dangerous path.

How do they separate out the casimir effect from the results?

Very good, Brian! It's great to get an experimentalist's view of what's going on.

I wonder though why they need an *active* system to compensate. Sounds kind of "brute force." What about their setup prevents their using a passive system? Or is there a passive system that's just insufficient that we're just not hearing about? (Maybe making the different legs of the same or complementary materials, or such.) I wouldn't mind hearing you or someone geek out on the passive system and how it natural compensates for some class of systematic variation.

Is gravity even a force? It’s just the incidental behavior of subatomic particles seeking their lowest energy state which is the longest relativistic geodesic path.

If you over control and go into oscillations that you know exactly how much your system is going to oscillate in over control mode then you might be able to create other different systems where you can calculate the over control oscillations and eliminate them from the equation and end up with nothing but the true signal.

AI generated comments apart, the video is interesting but, sadly, the only good place to make definitive test of gravitation is millionsof km. away. Remember, a0, MOND acceleration parameter, has a value of 10 to -10 m2.

I forgot I am not supposed to care about this topic anymore. Good luck with discovery, guys! Everyone will steal it if you don't play their game.

On smaller scales, there are probably many things that can interfere with the measurements, in my experience.

Hi, super interesting, great experiment good luck.

So the pendulum a different geometry to measure force, instead of acceleration and deceleration it is rotation

Could they test it by oscillating up & down instead of twisting it? Would that cause a different effects? You know the push pull.

Thank you, R. Keating. I am slightly less confused.

We need better math. Owing to the uniformity of particles, multiplication remains effective, its periodic subset within the vastness of infinity may cause locality to become more dominant than is supposed.

3:27 You get the Fundamental theorem of Calculus wrong - so what follows is questionable.
Re-metricate M, S, T as densities and ... the infinity evaporates. SpaceTime is Mass. as E/M = c^2
M/E = 1/(c^2) == e_*u_ etc.

This is amazing to me. I found myself caught in this loop once playing around in trying to fine tune mechanical automation valves to regulate output temperatures. Sometimes you just want to turn automation into a personal game when nobody's looking. 🤫😂.

I'm not a physicist, rather an enthusiastic layperson, so my comment may be naive, but everything vibrates. If nothing is static as I presently believe, the whole universe is perpetually in flux. Thus, even if the experiment where conducted in the vacuum of space, how would you seperate out the disturbance even in that environment?

The paper is about searching for dark matter, yet I never heard dark matter mentioned in the video, just that the inverse square rule for gravity might be incorrect. Maybe the curve is just like the black-body radiation curve and most measurements fall on the rising part. Also, dense materials take up more space than less dense materials do.
