What's funny is that, like George Carlin before him, both sides try to claim Bill as their boy, and he's just out there trashing everybody. And that doesn't mean he's a centrist, either. He clearly leans left on a lot of issues, but he's not ride or die for any side. And that's how you're supposed to be. You're not supposed to let an ideology do all your thinking for you, while you check out and buy a new shiny gadget every 18 months. There is no group of people you can belong to that has all the right answers all of the time.
