Bivol hits hard enough. He had a 85% ko ratio until he changed his tactics to preserve his hands. Biv pulled a Mayweather and went from boxer-puncher to boxer-counterstriker

Bivol linear movement in his Soviet step lines them up for his straight shots. Some pivot to open up new angles. One of the few who trains his feet equally as much as his hands

Bivol p4p has the fastest feet today. This impressive since he a big man fighting at 175

Biv’s high ring iq defense fast feet and jab see to him regularly outboxing longer taller opponents. These guys often have 3 inches over him in reach and height

Per Bivol he started boxing in Kyrgyzstan at 6 under his first coach. Moved to the Russian Empire around 10 to 12 and developed with his second coach. His current Asian passing trainer is his third coach

I keep banging on about this, but, the ring I believe will be 22ft which is 84ft2 bigger than the one Beterbiev fought C Smith in.
This will make it a long night for Beterbiev.
BTW his team as defending champ insisted on an 18 ft ring, so no wonder he looked good!😊

Just subscribed! Great breakdown of this style. Question what would a mix of Soviet & Cuban boxing styles look like? I don't know if anyone has done it before.

Bivol 9-3 Beterbiev. Biv ring iq defense fast feet and jab will see him to a wide decision. The counter jab will frustrate Beter and have him lunging in. Biv will set him up with traps and eating counters

Is Biv style purely Soviet. I’ve heard nonsensical statements like Gvozdyk is better than Biv and that Beterbiev is used to this style. Bivol has better footwork than Gvozdyk and is quicker than the Ukrainian especially downstairs. Per Bivol he took aspects from the Americans Ray Leonard & Roy Jonez

Bivol uses fairly basic combos and lands them anyways due to his high ring iq. A 1-21 fighter. Smartest boxer today. Quickest feet. Top defender. Best jab. Naoya being the best overall package off of the eye test

“Moving forward and backwards.”

In Russian it’s called Chelnok. Meaning needle 🪡! For that needle motion of going in and out or for boxing back and forth.
