Book Folding Vs Book Cutting: How to do Book Art

Book Folding vs Book Cutting. What’s the difference? Is Book Cutting something that I just made up for this video? Let's find out:
Book Folding creates a pattern by folding each page of the book, and usually has this angled effect.

Book Cutting creates a pattern by cutting each page, and usually has a flat front, with the pattern cut into the book. I haven't heard it referred to as 'Book Cutting' anywhere else before, but I feel a distinction is needed between this artform and regular Book Folding.

Both look great, but book cutting is easier to read, and allows for more detailed designs.

Why is this? Consider a Letter O created by book folding: it takes two alternating pages to form the top line and then the bottom line. Other letters, like a capital B, can take 4 alternating pages. This reduces the amount of detail that your design can show.

However book cutting doesn’t have this problem, you can form multiple lines with each page, allowing for much more detail.
