Gary being very modest here. He was elite. At Barca, Spurs, Everton and Leicester. He was elite everywhere he played

Gary Lineker was a 'no-frills' centre forward. He knew what his strengths were and focused all of his energy into being the best centre forward that he could possibly be. His skills should not be underestimated. He was, probably, the most accomplished striker of his generation. 48 goals in 80 appearances for England says it all.

Gary is too modest, he was an exceptional goalscorer. His vision and ability to be in the right place are second to none.

My point of view alone: Lineker could drag a team across the line single-handedly during his time. He single-handedly thwarted Cameroun's aspirations in the World Cup when the rest of the team were not really doing much. I know: I am Cameroonian and I watched the world cup in 1990; broke my heart and also became a hero in my eyes.

Gary lineker seems like such a genuinely nice guy. Humble with no ego.

Lineker said he had a good link with Beardsley, everyone that played with Beardsley seys this because Beardsley was the assist king in his day. He would feed strikers all day long, what a player.

These three guys are so good together in conversation, and you can sense the genuine friendship between them. Never a dull moment.

People always forget what Shearer was like before he did his ankle ligaments in 1997. Before that at Blackburn he was arguably the best striker in the world. Quick and literally a goal a game.

Someone should get a raise for putting these three in a room.

Probably the best podcast going. Now please also release the video recordings too

Lineker was a beast. First saw him in Italia90. A few years after that I saw footage of him in Mex 86 and at Barca. He was box scorer but an excellent one

They joke about Gary not shooting from outside the box, but inside the box he was absolutely lethal. He was somehow always able to find space even in the 6 yard box. It’s like the defenders couldn’t see him.

Shearer in his prime years at Blackburn was different. He could score every type of goal. Tap ins, 30 yard screamers, free kicks, box goals and absolutely lethal in the air. Probably the best all around finisher the country has ever produced.

Shearer by a mile missed two seasons through injury and still broke ALL goal scoring records, he was the best in the world defenders absolutely terrified of him.

If Lineker says he was running track at 18 and running 10.4s he was seriously fast, definitely a fair bit faster than Vardy.

Micah if he wanted to could’ve mentioned how he burst on the scene

Gary is so humble on tv people actually forget how legit he was as a player. Today every top club would want him. There was more parity at club level when he played, no way someone like Maradona would play for Napoli in the modern game.
