Показать описание
The Mannerheim Line was a defensive fortification line on the Karelian Isthmus built by Finland against the Soviet Union. During the Winter War it became known as the Mannerheim Line, after Field Marshal Baron Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim. The line was constructed in two phases: 1920–1924 and 1932–1939. By November 1939, when the Winter War began, the line was by no means complete.

Awesome.
Also in Italy near French bounds we have a lot forgotten structures and fortification.
Some nice museums too, near Torino.

There is still over 170 congrete bunkers inside finnish borders. Mosg of them are very good condition. We have over 1200km long defensive line called "salpa-linja". Some one would call it as finnish maginot line.

Highly interesting. Amazing how well the Fins handled themselves against the Russians.
Their part in WW2 is so often overlooked.
Thanks for sharing. From Texas, USA.
