6 Mascara Hacks For Falling in Love With Your Lashes

When it comes to being stranded on a desert island, the beauty product most people tend to say would be their go-to is mascara. (Other than sunscreen, obviously.) Mascara has the ability to tranform your eyes by making them more defined and opening them up! And while the mascara applicaton process is relatively simple — just apply it to your lashes and you're good to go — there are some tricks that can take your lashes from "nice!" to next-level gorgeous.

For instance, holding the wand can change your look: holding it horizontally adds more product, while holding it vertically defines the lashes. (Which is why it's ideal for applying to bottom or baby lashes.) Powdering your lashes before applying mascara works wonders for two reasons: it removes any moisture from the lashes, which could cause them to bunch together instead of separating, and it can help bulk up the lashes, too.
