KUOLEVA JÄÄTIKKÖ

The objective of this project is to develop a protocol for monitoring the health conditions of one of the southeast glaciers of Alpine chain: The Belvedere glacier (Kuoleva Jäätikkö). In the last years, it has shown huge mass reductions. The Belvedere glacier represents a precious source of water for the region, a key element for the winter and summer tourism, and an important resource for the hydropower production during the summer period.
