I'm not sure if you'll ever see this comment, but if you do I want you to know this song has been such a huge comfort to me. I recently had a friend pass away, and have felt partially responsible for how things went. This guilt has been suffocating, making it difficult to sleep or be alone, because the moment there's silence it's like I can hear what this person would say to me if they could, blaming me for what happened. This song feels like someone sitting next to me in those moments, reminding me that the voice isn't real. Many of your songs have at various points been on repeat in the last year of my life (crooked the road, damn these forces, city on a hill), they act as a gentle relief. I find a lot of encouragement in this one specifically, when you say "I can see the time and how it heals". Like you know, it's not better yet, but just give it time, just give it more time. Thank you for sharing your own experiences in your songs. There's something so comforting in your music, an understanding that you have that's the result of so many hardships I'm sure, but you've turned into something that can encourage others.
