📚 Description: The Amazing Spider-Man! There have been many tacky Spiderman guitars made, but this is the first one that truly spoke to me - and I'm not even a Super Hero fan! The Spiderman Mustang is a very cool guitar with spiderwebs all over it as well as a web-shot for a competition stripe! These were made in Japan in 2011 and were limited to only 50 made.

This represents the best kind of collectible: one that is desirable in two very different and equally rabid markets.

FYI: that screw for the tremolo arm isn't stock, somebody has changed it for one that's more easy access. The originals have a small grub screw that you tighten using allen wrenches.

In terms of the trem, I found pushing the bridge back as far back to the tailpiece helps keep it in tune. The bridge is suppose to move with the tremolo as you use it, kinda like a roller bridge without the rollers or a Jazz/Jag Unit. Having it just move forward or towards the neck helps alot. Fixing the tremolo bar helps alot too, having it swing like a stratocaster arm can throw the whole unit out of tune. I love it as a tremolo unit, it's very good for surf sounds. You can also very simply turn the unit into a Tune-o-matic unit like Kurt Cobain did.

My birthday was the 27th and my dad gave me his 67 Daphne Blue mustang. Things been played so much it’s turned almost seafoam green! Sadly a model made a year before the matching headstock and competition stripe models, but it plays like a dream, and even though it’s a little thin sounding, it’s easy to play around with effects and EQs! Definitely an underrated gem!

Thank you for explaining the switches properly. When the switches are in opposite directions they are out of phase. Hear so often that when one pickup is on that one specific direction is considered out of phase. It’s over 50 years old, this wiring is not a mystery.

By far my favorite playing demo by so far. Good job with the appropriate material

Yes, a rubber nib because you wouldn't want the set screw to actually touch the bar, 1 It'd mark it. 2 it would hold fast the rubber allows it to be tighten firm but still allowing the bar to slip side to side.

Love your reviews as you look at what underneath, what's inside, and measure specs. I wish other youtubers would do this in their reviews..

I guess there should be small spring under that screw to tighten tremolo bar.

All these cool red guitars are making me seriously rethink my finish biases.

I love that guitar! And I still have the 1st comic book I ever bought... A Spiderman comic book I bought when I was 7. Alas! It's in terrible shape! But at least I still have it....

I grew up playing my dad's '61 Musicmaster, and went to grab a Mustang recently, as it reminded me of the Musicmaster. I ended up going with the American Special one that has two humbuckers and a Gibson-style switch. I absolutely hate the default switches for Mustangs.

the timelapse with the sped up scale as you tore this down at 4:10 had me dying. Never knew this existed till I saw it "swing by" on your recent incognito GC video.

Hey Austin Mustang bridges are a bit weird as when setting up the guitar you are suppose to place it in the middle (almost like making it float between the spaces). The trem and the bridge are meant to move with one another in order to stay in tune although to be honest with you mine has also never stayed in tune lol.
I believe Kurt Cobain’s Mustang was modified with a tune o matic to help with the tuning stability.
Some Mustang owners just straight up disassemble the vibrola and place the cigar string thing in the opposite direction for straight string switches as opposed to wrapping it around and under.
Overall I definitely agree with the fact that Mustang vibrola is the weak link in the guitar but I still love mine to death. Love the videos man!

I love just how well the colors of all the parts complement each other. The Spider-Man theme is there without making it *too* busy. Though the volume/tone knobs would be better served being blue with a white engraved line than the standard black. I love this even though I'm not a Mustang girl.
