Testing a Philips B6X04a tube radio after sitting Smoke!

This Philips B6X04 has been sitting for long, and status is unknown. I want to test the radio before I part it out. I could use a variac, but decided to do the plug it in and see what happens method. The radio is from 1959, and the first of a long series of stereo radio''s. They called this type of radio a Plano.
